Bien Venido A Miami!

@

Welcome to Miami! This is the introduction you receive upon entering South Beach, Miami, one of the top 10 beaches in America. I visited Miami, Fl for the first time in 2007. I mostly enjoyed a good deal of night life entertainment on my trip and decided when I returned for New Year’s Eve weekend at the end of the year that I would take time to enjoy the sights in daylight. It was fairly easy to find parking on a side street near the BaySide mall in the port of Miami. Upon first exiting my car I was greeted by the huge expanse of the new Trump tower being built across the street from the bay. It was all steel and smoky glass, another example of the over-the-top architecture that contributed to this town’s “sexy” appeal. My friend and I crossed the street and followed the walkway down into the street fair that was BaySide. It wasn’t so much a mall as it was an outdoor and indoor mix of novelty stores, fast food restaurants and small attractions. While here, you can enjoy a fusion of Asian/Spanish food for lunch, leisurely sip your mango margarita while strolling the past the carts and kiosks featuring a scarf (that you can wrap around you fifty different ways) and beaded handmade jewelry. You can even take a picture with a trained parrot that will lie in your arms like a baby! Then finish it all up with a relaxing hour-long boat ride with the ocean’s cool breeze swirling around you as you take in the sights of the mega mansions of Star Island featuring Millionaire’s Row. All in all, there’s something for everyone’s inner tourist to enjoy. As a word of caution though, after all the relaxation of the day, you may just need a nap!
